“PM Initiates Gurugram Metro Rail Project: A Transformational Step”

Prime Minister set the cornerstone for the long-awaited Gurugram Metro Rail Project from Rewari on February 16, marking a significant milestone alongside the initiation of various state projects including a 750-bedded AIIMS Rewari at Majra Bhalkhi village. The 28.5-KM metro line, an extension of the DMRC line from the Huda City Centre to Sohna Road, NH-48 to Old Gurugram, and Dwarka Expressway terminating at Cyber City, promises to cater to the needs of the entire Gurugram populace. It is poised to revolutionize daily commuting, vastly improving connectivity between NCR cities, easing travel for commuters, and reducing overall travel time.

Key stations along the route include Huda City Centre, Sector 45, Cyber Park, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai, Sector 9, Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23 A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar 4, Udyog Vihar 5, and Cyber City.

This enhanced connectivity is expected to attract more businesses and investments to Gurugram, propelling its economic growth and making it more attractive for residents and businesses alike. Moreover, the implementation of an efficient metro system holds promise to alleviate traffic congestion, a persistent issue stemming from rapid urbanization and population surge. Reduced congestion would also lead to lower pollution levels, fostering a healthier living environment for residents.

As one of India’s rapidly growing urban centers, Gurugram stands to reap substantial benefits from this development, particularly in terms of last-mile connectivity. Currently, metro facilities are limited to the Yellow line of Delhi, terminating at Huda City Centre, leaving much of the city underserved. Once extended throughout the old city, densely populated areas will gain convenient access, significantly improving quality of life for residents.

Recognized as the safest and fastest mode of transport, the metro is a lifeline for the NCR region. With the current Delhi metro confined to a limited length since 2008-09, the expansion of connectivity through the Gurugram Metro Rail Project is eagerly anticipated.

Improved connectivity has the potential to spur the development of new commercial hubs and residential areas along the metro corridor, stimulating property values and fostering real estate growth a prominent real estate promoter, hails the project as a milestone achievement and a crucial necessity for the rapidly evolving city of Gurugram, a showcase city of the nation.
